The “Toitures Trois Étoiles Inc. Maintenance Service” division, often referred to as the service department, is looking for an estimator to meet the growing demand from its public and private clients. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of and in collaboration with the department director. The type of projects carried out by this department will allow the candidate to develop unique expertise and skills while highlighting one of our core values: customer service.

The main responsibilities are as follows:

Prepare estimates

  • Evaluate and determine quantities and construction costs for private and public projects;
  • Identify key issues and make appropriate recommendations;
  • Respond to client calls and emails while meeting quality and deadline objectives;
  • Assist clients by answering their technical questions;
  • Ensure client satisfaction and help build client loyalty by promoting the company’s services;
  • Write and submit bids to clients;
  • Validate the financial performance of projects;
  • Prepare estimate sheets and present quotes with inclusions and exclusions;
  • Correctly interpret the technical specifications required by the client;
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers and subcontractors;
  • Establish the cost of roof repairs and replacements while applying the company’s profitability margins.

Coordinate projects

  • Open project files for the execution of work, for example: prepare work sheets, order lists, stakeholder lists, and copies of plans and specifications;
  • Follow up on project progress with the Service Director;
  • Contribute to project completion through effective coordination and by completing assigned sub-tasks for all projects;
  • Assist in preparing billing;
  • Participate in defining and improving internal procedures;
  • Provide information and follow-ups to the various internal stakeholders;
  • Support management with various administrative and accounting requests and needs by proposing solutions after analyzing different situations;
  • Perform any other related tasks associated with the position.

    • Know how to manage time and be able to handle several tasks at the same time;
    • Have a professional attitude and strong interpersonal skills, as they will be in direct contact with clients;
    • Be clear, concise, and structured in both written and verbal communication;
    • Have strong planning skills and be able to execute tasks quickly;
    • Be able to work as part of a team;
    • Have strong analytical skills;
    • Be versatile;
    • Demonstrate punctuality and respect at all times.

Requirements :

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the construction industry;
  • Strong command of French and English, both spoken and written;
  • Advanced knowledge of office software such as the MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Experience in roofing is an asset;
  • Any relevant training is an asset, such as a DEP in construction or estimating, BAC, etc.
